A court Monday sent to jail the son of a former Andhra Pradesh minister and his friend for creating a ruckus at a bar on the premises of the airport here and manhandling an official.

Ravi Teja, son of former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and his friend Indrajet first created a scene at the private bar and later abused and manhandled an official of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), while in an inebriated condition, on the premises of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) early Monday.

RGIA airport police booked a case and arrested the duo on a complaint filed by APSRTC employee Ramesh Goud.

The two were produced before eighth metropolitan court, which sent them to judicial custody. The accused were lodged in Cherlapally Jail on the city outskirts.

Srinivasa Rao, who was infrastructure minister in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet, recently quit the Congress and joined Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Meanwhile, city police booked son of a Congress MP for allegedly manhandling a police constable. Arvind Kumar Yadav, son of Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, beat up the cop when he raised an objection to his playing Holi on the road.
