The brother of a former Delhi deputy mayor was shot dead by about half a dozen masked men who barged into his office, police said Thursday.
Saleem alias Bobby, 30, was shot eight times at his office in east Delhi's Seelampur area around 9.15 p.m. Wednesday in front of his wife Shahida who had gone to deliver him dinner. He was brother of ex-deputy mayor Raziya Sultana.
Shahida managed to escape from the spot and informed her relatives about the incident, said a police officer.
Saleem was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where doctors declared him dead.
"Arif, Akbar and Sunny have been named in a complaint registered by the victim's family," said the officer.
The victim's family alleged that Arif attacked Saleem to take the revenge of his brother's murder.

"Saleem had killed Arif's brother three years ago and was sent to judicial custody. In November this year, the victim had come out of jail. It seems that Arif, along with his associates, attacked Saleem to settle his grudge," said the officer.
A hunt is on to nab the accused.
