Former Manipur Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Rishan Kaising died on Tuesday at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here, his family members said.
Rishan Kaising, 97, died at 8.15 p.m. He was admitted to the hospital on July 1 with serious medical problems.
Last year, he retired from the Rajya Sabha as the oldest member.
A four-time Chief Minister of Manipur, he had also escaped assassination attempts by the militants several times.
