P.V. Rajeswara Rao, son of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, died here on Monday following prolonged illness. He was 68.
Rajeswara Rao breathed his last at Yashodha Hospital here, family members said.
The second of three sons of Narasimha Rao, he became General Secretary of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh in 1991 when his father became the Prime Minister.
A law graduate from Osmania University, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad here in 1996 but lost the 1998 election.
Rajeswara Rao wanted to be a playback singer and even sang light music on All India Radio and television. He then began nursing political ambitions.
He also had interests in business and agriculture. Rajeswara Rao was also active in social and cultural activities.
