Former Roma head coach Luciano Spalletti has left for Miami to meet American James Pallotta, the Italian club's president, and formalise an agreement to rejoin the Serie A side, which no longer has confidence in the current coach Rudi Garcia.
Corriere dello Sport reported that Spalletti, who previously led Roma between 2005 and 2009, travelled on Tuesday to Miami just as Garcia was leading the first team training, reports Efe.
The Corriere dello Sport claims that Spalletti had an appointment on Tuesday with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, in which he spoke of a contract for 18 months.
Pallotta will have the last word before giving the nod to 56-year-old Spalletti, whose last job as a coach was with Zenit Saint Petersburg till the Italian's sacking in March 2014.
