The CBI Tuesday arrested former West Bengal Police top officer Rajat Majumdar during its ongoing investigation into the multi-crore rupee Saradha chit fund scam.
Majumdar, who worked as a security advisor for the tainted company after retiring as director general of the state police's armed wing, has been booked under charges of criminal conspiracy and cheating.
The Central Bureau of Investigation had interrogated Majumdar Aug 23 following a search of his residence Aug 14 in which several documents were seized.
