Two former senior officials from the Hebei and Inner Mongolia provincial government in China were arrested over graft charges on Tuesday.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate -- the agency responsible for both prosecution and investigation in China -- said that Ai Wenli, former Vice Chairman of Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was arrested on bribery allegations, Xinhua news agency reported.
Bai Xiangqun, former Vice Chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was also arrested on allegations of bribery and embezzlement.
The National Supervisory Commission concluded its probe in both the cases, which were handed over to the procuratorial body for review and prosecution.
The arrests were part of an ongoing anti-corruption campaign launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping since he took office in 2013.
The campaign has led to the arrest and sentencing of more than a million and a half top leaders of the Communist Party, including several former military officials.
