Four persons died and three fell ill in the past two days in a Madhya Pradesh village after allegedly consuming spurious liquor, officials said on Monday.
The administration, however, is still awaiting the post-mortem reports.
According to police, one person died on Saturday and three on Sunday in Gauspur village in Morena district and the reason behind their death is yet to be ascertained. The villagers, however, claimed they died after consuming spurious liquor.
Excise Officer Vandana Pandey told IANS on Monday that it was not yet clear if the persons died due to consumption of spurious liquor and only a post-mortem report can establish the reason behind the deaths.
