A court here sentenced four people, including a stock broker, to life imprisonment Monday for the murder of a chartered accountant in 2007.
Those convicted and awarded life term for the murder are stock broker Kanav Arora, his employee Shiv Kumar, Mandeep Singh and Ashwinder Singh.
Chartered accountant Rajesh Goyal was stabbed to death May 2007 in his office in the city's Sector 42.
Police told the court that the motive of the murder was that the accused owed crores of rupees to Goyal, who had invested a lot of money through the stock broker in the market.
Police said Arora and Shiv Kumar, who had to return Goyal's money, hatched the conspiracy to kill Goyal.
Arora, who had to return nearly Rs.2 crore to Goyal, paid Rs.14 lakh as contract killing money to Mandeep Singh, police said.
The court convicted the accused on the basis of evidence provided by the victim's wife, Sonia Goyal.
