A module of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit was busted in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district with the arrest of four guerrillas Friday, police said.
"Police along with 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) busted a militant module of HM outfit operating in Sopore town of Baramulla. Four militants were arrested and arms and ammunition was recovered from them," a senior police officer told IANS here.
He said the four militants were apprehended when on a tip-off, police in a joint operation with 22 RR launched a search operation in Batpora area of Sopore.
"Two pistols, two pistol magazines, 14 pistol rounds, and two Chinese hand grenades were recovered from them," he said.
"During initial investigations, it was revealed that the apprehended militants were operating a militant module of HM outfit and were planning to carry out a major terror act," the officer added.
