Four persons were arrested on Monday for thrashing a woman, her husband and relatives on Sunday night. One of the arrested men allegedly raped the woman in the presence of her family members, police said.
The 22-year-old woman, from a village in South Dinajpur in West Bengal and now living in South City 1 area of Gurugram, filed a FIR against four unknown men.
She said she went with her husband and relatives to a family function in Tigra village on Sunday evening. When they were returning home in a car, they were stopped by four men in another car.
"We were thrashed, I was dragged to a nearby bush by one of them and raped," the victim said in her complaint.
The accused were arrested on the basis of the registration number of the vehicle provided by the victims.
They were identified as Sanjit, Deshveer, Dhramender and Pawan, all from a village close to Sohna. They will be produced before a court on Tuesday, a police officer told IANS.
