At least four suspected Al Qaeda militants were killed during a US drone strike on a convoy in Yemen's Shabwa province, a security official said Saturday.
"An unmanned U.S. drone fired missiles on an al-Qaida convoy in Bayhan region of Shabwa province late on Friday night, killing at least four terrorists at the scene,"
the official told Xinhua news agency.
A tribal leader confirmed the attack, saying "an unexpected US bombing targeted the Al Qaeda convoy of two vehicles before they gathered for a meeting in the village".
"The bombing killed some local commanders of the group, including unidentified foreigners," the official added.
