As many as 62 candidates, including four women, have filed nomination papers for the January 29 bypolls for the Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha seats and the Mandalgarh assembly segment in Rajasthan.
January 10 was the last day for filing nominations. January 15 is the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
No woman has filed nominations for the Alwar seat whereas there are three such candidates in Ajmer. One woman is contesting the Mandalgarh seat.
A total of 18 lakh women voters reside in these three constituencies.
Chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia was conspicuous by her absence in the three constituencies during filing of nominations by Bharatiya Janata Party candidates though senior BJP leaders were present.
Veteran Congress leaders like former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress state unit chief Sachin Pilot were seen along with party candidates during filing of nominations.

BJP state unit President Ashok Parnami told IANS that Raje was busy chalking out the strategy for the elections with her team.
On the video clipping wherein BJP Minister Jaswant Yadav was allegedly seen and heard polarising a crowd and that went viral on the social media, Parnami said the issue should not be publicised much and such things happen during elections.
