The 42nd edition of the International Kolkata Book Fair beginning in January 2018 will feature France as the focus country, the organisers said on Sunday.
"To celebrate the literal and cultural ties between France and Kolkata, we have planned a festival called 'Bonjour Kolkata'," Tridib Chatterjee, secretary of the Publishers and Booksellers Guild, the organisers, told IANS on Sunday.
The book fair will run from January 30 to February 11.
"In the forthcoming edition, the venue will shift from Milan Mela to Central Park in Salt Lake satellite township," he added.
It is the largest attended book fair in the world with an average record footfall of 2.5 million year on year, said organisers.
Every year a focal theme country is chosen and an entire pavilion is dedicated to showcase that country's culture, traditions, food, tourism, and literature through books.
