Fresh tremors were experienced in northern Bengal on Monday evening, sending people scurrying out of their homes, offices and market places.
The quake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was felt at 6.09 p.m. in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, North Dinajpur and Malda districts.
Panicky people ululated and blew conch shells, while many rushed to open grounds and on the streets.
