Popular choreographer-director Ganesh Acharya is shooting for renowned Hong Kong-based director Dante Lam's film, "Operation Mekong".
According to Ganesh, the makers of the film were impressed by his acting skills in his film, "Hey Bro", which was an action comedy drama on brother bonding.
"Someone from their production house saw 'Hey Bro' in the theatre. I got a call from them for the negative role. I thought I can go up one step further. The director Dante Lam had liked my work and then we discussed about it and he then send me the whole script. I did a schedule in Bangkok recently," Ganesh said in an interview.
About his character in the film, he said: "My character is of a don who handles two other dons and his name is Mr. Zar."
"He is actually in prison but he has his own kitchen, his own telephone and from the jail he bribes the police and controls his entire mafia from there. And people come to meet him there with money," he added.
Dante Lam who is known for action films like as "Beast Stalker", "That Demon Within" and "Unbeatable" among others.

"The director is brilliant and he was impressed with my expressions and dialogue delivery with a heavy voice. I'm also happy that I worked as a choreographer in a Hollywood film," Ganesh said about Lam.
"Operation Mekong" also stars Zhang Hanyu, Eddie Peng and Joyce Feng and is a crime action film based on real life events.
The film will be shot at locations in China and Thailand and is slated to release in 2016.
