A gangster was arrested here after he opened fire at a rival, police said on Tuesday.
Arman was arrested on Monday night from Sangam Vihar in south Delhi. He is said to be a close associate of the Deepak Pandit gang.
"On Sunday night, Arman and his associates opened fire in Sangam Vihar to create terror among residents and his rival group in view of an ongoing dispute," Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
"He confessed he tried to shoot a Manoj Kumar but failed. He is a habitual offender and was previously involved in three cases of Arms Act," the officer added.
There is an ongoing rivalry between the two gangs headed by Ravi Gangwal and Deepak Pandit in south Delhi. Both the gangsters are in judicial custody while most of their gang members are also in jail, police said.
