A Delhi court on Thursday posted for Friday the bail plea of former Delhi University professor S.A.R. Geelani, arrested on sedition charges.
Additional Sessions Judge Amit Bansal posted the matter for Friday as the concerned judge, Additional Sessions Judge Deepak Garg, was absent.
Geelani moved a fresh bail application before the court on Wednesday.
Geelani was arrested after police registered a case on February 10 against him for organising a meeting here on February 9 to mark the death anniversary of parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
In his application, Geelani said he was in judicial custody since February 16 and no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping him jailed further.
He also said that he had co-operated in the investigation and there was no evidence against him.
