There is a need to create gender sensitisation in police to stop crimes against women, said a women rights activist Tuesday.
Addressing students of Jawaharlal Nehru University on gender sensitisation and crimes against women, Centre for Social Research director Ranjana Kumari said: "We need to bring about gender sensitisation among the police force to stop crimes against women."
"Though we have a law in our country, practices like child marriage are still carried out, hence we need to bring about structural transformation in the society," she added.
