American automobile company General Motors' Indian subsidiary Tuesday said it will increase the prices of its vehicles from the first week of June, 2013.

"We have decided to increase the prices of all our vehicles up to Rs.10,000 depending upon the model with effect from the first week of June on account of increase in transportation costs due to hike in diesel price," said P. Balendran, vice president, General Motors India.

"In percentage terms, the increase goes up to 1.5 per cent depending on the model," said Balendran.

The three state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased diesel prices by about 90 paise per litre plus taxes after a gap of two months.
