The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) has concluded its three-city roadshow in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai, witnessing great enthusiasm from the travel trade in all three cities.
Over 10 German partners were present at the year-end roadshow and were "thrilled to see response from the Indian travel trade industry. At the same time, It has helped our German partners to understand Indian market better. Hence further aiding in developing the image of Germany as a great tourist destination, thereby making it more suitable to Indian travellers", a GNTO statement said.
The trade partners from India walked away with more information on destination Germany, especially with regards to the partners present.
"We are grateful to our partners for providing constant support throughout the year. This year we have few new partners on board and we look forward to have a long association with them in future as well, Romit Theophilus, director of sales and marketing for GNTO here, said.
"We plan to have one GNTO roadshow every year. With regard to the current economic scenario, although there has been economic uncertainty which has been prevailing and devaluation of the rupee, which has affected Indian outbound. Germany has still been receiving a fair amount of travelers. We have witnessed 402,440 overnights from January-August, 2013," he added.
The German partners who had participated in the roadshow were Frankfurt Tourism & Congress, Deutsche Bahn, Stuttgart, Visit Berlin, Alpha Travel Consultants, Maritim Hotels, Steigenberger, Emirates, K D Rhine Line, Berlin TV Tower, Saxony, DZT India.
