Accra, Aug 30 (IANS/MAP) The staff of Ghana's National Communications Authority (NCA) have donated disaster relief items to support the mudslide victims in Sierra Leone.

The items which were donated through Umu Hawa Tejan-Jaloh, the Sierra Leonean High Commissioner in Ghana on Tuesday, included mattresses, clothes, blankets and bedsheets.

A statement issued by the NCA, said the staff also signed the book of condolence to express their sympathy with the people of Sierra Leone.

Mavis Obeng-Aidoo, who led the delegation to make the presentation, said the donation was to help alleviate the suffering of victims and to deepen the relationship between Ghana and Sierra Leone.

"The staff voluntarily made cash donations, which were used to purchase the relief items," she said.
