The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has secured a 2.1 million cedis (over 650,000 U.S. dollars) three-year sponsorship deal for the second-tier league.
GN Bank, a wholly-owned Ghanaian bank, was officially unveiled as the sponsor of the Division One league at a ceremony here Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
The lower league has been without a major sponsor after the deal with PolyTank ended.
GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said the sponsorship deal will help develop the second-tier league.
"This sponsorship comes as a relief to the GFA and the Division One clubs. It will also go a long way to develop the Division One League", Nyantakyi said.
The Division One league is set to begin next weekend across the country in all three zones.
In the league's new structure, clubs will engage each other in a 16-club league in each of the three zones with winners of the zones qualifying into the Premier League.
