Imagine your neighbour borrowing your brand new car "for just a couple of days", and then doing a vanishing trick along with your vehicle! This is exactly what happened with a city resident.
The victim said he loaned his brand new car to his neighbour for a two-day outing. But even though the duration elapsed long back, neither his neighbour nor his newly-purchased vehicle have been seen since.
As for the police, "they registered a complaint of breach of trust over a month back but are yet to initiate any action in the matter", the victim told IANS.
According to police, Amar Singh of Patel Marg area lodged a police complaint that his neighbour Ashish drove away with his Renault Kwid car (UP-15-CS-6432). Even after more than a month, both Ashish and the car remained untraceable.
Amar said when he questioned Ashish's parents about his whereabouts, they did not cooperate and expressed ignorance.
Frustrated over not getting a satisfactory response, Amar lodged the complaint on May 17, which police registered under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code (criminal breach of trust). And the matter has rested there ever since.
