Actress Ahsaas Channa, who will next be seen playing a sexual assault victim in TV show "MTV Big F Season 2", says women should not stop from standing up against sexual molestation.
The upcoming episode of "MTV Big F Season 2" will narrate the story of a young and free-spirited 18-year-old girl Diya (Ahsaas) whose life takes a turn when she visits her uncle for a vacation and is sexually molested by him.
"Well, I think when a girl is molested, especially by a family member, she's very afraid of speaking about it because girls, in general, think and intend to believe that it's their fault," Ahsaas said in a statement.
"They are afraid of not getting the support of other family members or their mothers which is wrong. She should speak about it and stand for herself without being ashamed of it because it's not her fault.
"Instead of keeping it to herself and hiding it when it actually kills her from within, speak about it and let the people know about that specific person because if we let it go, we let go of that person to do the same thing to some other girl," she added.
Ahsaas has previously appeared in films like "Vaastu Shastra", "My Friend Ganesha" and "Phoonk". She has also done TV shows like "Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon", "Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev" and "Aadha Full".
The episode of "MTV Big F Season 2" featuring Ahsaas will be aired on Sunday.
