Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Kalraj Mishra on Monday stressed the importance of global partnerships for growth of Indian SMEs as well as for the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "visionary" Make in India initiative.
Noting the dynamic global business environment has exposed Indian MSMEs to a plethora of opportunities as well as challenges, he said his ministry is committed to bringing in structural reforms to help India SMEs leverage the opportunities and evolve into globally competitive and robust powerhouses of the Indian economy.
"MSMEs should forge partnerships with their counterparts in various countries and try to become more competitive," Mishra said in his address at the CII Global SME Business Summit here.
He also said his government has drawn up a number of schemes to boost the sector.
Private players should also come up to support the government's initiatives for the purpose, he added.
