India's Veer Ahlawat scored two-over 74 to finish runner-up in the MCB Indian Ocean Amateur Golf Open at the Heritage Golf Club here on Tuesday.
Another Indian in the fray, Bengaluru's Jaibir Singh finished ninth after submitting a card of three-over 75 in a competition that had 53 players from Mauritius, Reunion Island, South Africa, Switzerland and France in a 54-hole stroke play event.
Ahlawat had a poor start to his final day and was four-over after three holes. However, he got his game together to finish the round at two-over for the total of four-over 220.
The 25-year-old Jaibir, who was part of the victorious Indian team of the 12th SAARC Team Championship in June this year, put in his best score of the week of three-over 75 for the total of 17-over 233.
South African Paul Boshoff adapted his game to compensate for an injured knee to score a scintillating three-under 69 for a total of two-under 214 to clinch the winner's trophy.
