Government awards highway development project worth Rs 820 crore

The government on Wednesday said that it has awarded a project worth Rs 820 crore for development of National Highway (NH) 11A in Rajasthan to PNC Infratech.

"The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued Letter of Award (LOA) for development of national highway (NH 11A) section in the state of Rajasthan on Hybrid Annuity Mode under NHDP (National Highways Development Project) Phase-IV," the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement.

According to ministry, the 83-km-long Dausa-Lalsot-Kauthun section transverses through three important districts of Rajasthan: Dausa, Tonk and Jaipur.

"The project comprises development of 34 km of project length to 4-lane with rigid pavement from Dausa to Lalsot and 49 km to 2-lane with paved shoulder with flexible pavement," the statement said.

"The concession period is 17.5 years including construction period of 2.5 years."

The ministry further said that the project will have three major bridges, 12 minor bridges, one railway-over-bridge, three bypasses of a total length of 22 km, and five re-alignments of about three km.

"Development of this section will improve connectivity to various villages and towns and confer boost to the economy of the area by way of providing access to various places of business and touristic importance," the statement added.
