Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday denied Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's charge that the CBI had been asked to target all opposition parties.

"It's wrong to say that the Central Bureau of Investigation has been asked to target all opposition parties. The allegation is completely baseless," the parliamentary affairs minister told reporters outside parliament.

"A CBI officer told me that CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties and finish those who don't fall in line," Kejriwal earlier tweeted.

Jitendra Singh, minister of state in the Prime Minister's Office, criticised Kejriwal for making the allegation.

"Kejriwal-ji should reveal the name of the CBI officer and give evidence," Singh told the media.

"Is this what is expected from a chief minister," Singh wondered.

The government did not interfere in the functioning of the CBI, he added.
