The government on Thursday issued a travel advisory to all Indian nationals travelling to strife-torn Yemen.

"The security situation in Yemen continues to remain fragile," the external affairs ministry said in a statement.

"In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Aden, which resulted in killing of an Indian nun and abduction of one priest, Indian nationals are again strongly advised to avoid travelling to Yemen under any circumstances by any means for any purpose till further notice," it said.

In an attack on an old-age home in the Yemeni port city of Aden run by the Kolkata-based Missionaries of Charity early last month, 16 people were killed, including Cecilia Minz, an Indian nun.

Father Tom Uzhunallil, an Indian priest, was also abducted after the attack.

Friday's advisory is the latest in a series of such advisories issued by the government wherein Indian nationals have been advised to refrain from undertaking travel to Yemen in view of the precarious security situation in the country.
