West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday assured her government was taking necessary steps in containing swine flu that so far has claimed two lives in the state.
"For swine flu we are taking all action, we have readied isolated beds. While it is not possible for us to prevent the disease, it is our humanitarian duty to provide treatment to the affected," Banerjee told media persons here.
She also attributed mosquito bite as one of the reason for the disease.
"People are constantly on the move from one place to another, it happens from mosquito bites and various other reasons," said Banerjee.
So far 42 cases of swine flu have been reported from the state while there have been two deaths in Kolkata.
