Rock band Green Day slammed US President-elect Donald Trump during its performance at the American Music Awards (AMA) here.

The band took the stage on Sunday to perform "Bang bang", the lead single of the trio's recent album "Revolution Radio", and then broke out into a chant. The band yelled "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA", reports variety.com.

Earlier this month, Green Day performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and while singing the 2004 hit "American idiot", lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong altered the lyrics to sing, "Can you hear the sounds of hysteria? The subliminal Trump America".

Armstrong had also compared Trump to Hitler in an interview with a Britain based magazine, Kerrang.

"'You have no options and I'm the only one, and I'm going to take care of it myself', I mean, that's f***ing Hitler, man!" Armstrong told the magazine.
