Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has undergone medical tests after he returned from the French national football team camp with a traumatic injury.
Atletico explained on their website on Monday that the tests confirmed "a good evolution of his traumatic injury with a haematoma in the back of the left foot" ahead of Saturday's Spanish league derby against Real Madrid.
The Frenchman, who played 88 minutes during his national team's 2-1 victory over Sweden on Friday, received permission from his national team to return to Madrid on Sunday, when he underwent recovery sessions.
Griezmann will have to undergo physiotherapy to rejoin the training in preparation for Saturday's derby.
Atletico midfielder Gabi Fernandez said earlier on Monday that his teammate Griezmann suffers from a strong blow in his left foot.
During a charity campaign for children in Madrid, the Spanish midfielder pointed out that he talked with the Frenchman and hopes Griezmann can recover and help on Saturday.
