A 27-year-old man, working as a conductor with a cluster bus, allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train here at the Ghevra railway crossing, a police officer said on Friday.

The incident occurred on Thursday night and some passersby informed the police about a body lying on the Ghevra railway crossing in West Delhi's Mundka.

"A suicide note was recovered from the deceased, who was later identified as Hari Darshan, a resident of Nihar Vihar," a senior police officer said.

"Hari Darshan, a conductor with Delhi Integrated Multi Model Transit System Limited (DIMTS), was under extreme work pressure from his bosses to generate more money from the tickets.

"He alleged in his suicide note that he was being harassed by his manager Sonu Sharma and Deputy Manager Saurabh Pandey, who were posted at the Kanjhawla bus depot," the officer said.

According to the police, on Thursday around 11 p.m. Hari Darshan was rebuked by Sharma and he was seen crying while coming out of his cabin.

"Soon after he wrote a suicide note and shared it with his friends, colleagues and Sharma and Pandey on Facebook," he said.

"We have registered a case against Sonu Sharma and Saurabh Pandey. Both have been absconding since the incident," he said.

Hari Darshan is survived by his ailing parents and a disabled brother, Ram Darshan.

Earlier in the day, a group of Hari Darshan's friends and colleagues protested against the DIMTS management outside the Kanjhawla bus depot and demanded the early arrest of the accused persons.

Orange in colour, the cluster buses are driven by employees of private concessionaires and monitored by the DIMTS. Delhi has around 1,600 cluster buses on the roads every day.
