The Haryana government on Tuesday said it will install Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purifier systems in all government schools in the state to provide purified drinking water to students.
The facility would be made available in urban schools from next year and would be extended to schools in rural areas later on, it was decided at a meeting here on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reviewed the progress of centrally-sponsored schemes in Haryana.
It was announced that the government is also planning to install solar panels on the rooftops of government schools. The solar energy produced would be used to run computers.
