Haryana Police has arrested in Mumbai a 55-year-old man who duped people across the country and was wanted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), an officer said on Thursday.
Himanshu Bhatt alias Himanshu Rajendra Bhatt alias Ajit Mehta was taken into custody by the cyber crime cell of Gurgaon police.
"He was arrested outside a health club in Goregaon in Mumbai on June 5 after a chase of nearly 1.5 km," a senior police officer told IANS.
The accused was on Thursday produced before the Gurgaon duty magistrate's court which sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
Police here registered a case of fraud and cheating on the basis of a complaint filed by an official from Elite IT Solution on November 15 last year.
The accused had duped the company of Rs.40 lakh by falsely promising a loan of Rs.3.5 crore.

The case was transferred to cyber crime cell last month and the accused was arrested on the basis of technical evidence.
Police said the accused lived in the upscale Imperial Heights in west Malad area, home to many filmstars, industrialists and corporate honchos.
"He used to befriend people in high society parties and hotels abroad. The Gurgaon company was duped after he met the owner's daughter-in-law in London," the officer said.
Thirteen cases of fraud, cheating and breach of trust have been registered against the accused throughout India. The CBI has registered three case of fraud against him.
To evade arrest, the accused changed his looks. He was bald a few years ago and weighed over 125 kg but then lost close to 50 kg and grew hair through advanced technology.
He was also an expert in preparing fake documents including letters of credit and PAN cards.
