Accusing a section of Trinamool Congress leaders of suspending him "in haste" to keep him away from party workers and supporters, party Rajya Sabha member Kunal Ghosh Saturday said he has been "punished without a trial".
While maintaining that she still regards Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee as his leader, the journalist-turned MP said he has not even received any show cause notice from the party.
"I have been punished without a trial. I have not even received the letter of show cause, though I had heard from the media that such a letter will be given to me.
"I don't know the factual situation. So I am not in a position to comment on the development," Ghosh said, soon after the Trinamool leadership announced his suspension on grounds of discipline.
Asked what would be his strategy now, Ghosh said: "There is no question of any strategy. Whatever I have heard today has made me sad. The Trinamool workers across the state know me as one who has walked hand in hand with them to usher in the political change in Bengal."
"I think some leaders have taken this action against me in haste to keep me away from the Trinamool workers," he added.
