The Delhi High Court on Wednesday cancelled parole and furlough granted to former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, who is serving a 10-year jail sentence in the 2000 JBT teachers' recruitment case.

Justice Vipin Sanghi cancelled the parole granted to Chautala, 82, observing that he was misusing it to attend public meetings.

The court order came observing certain media reports and pictures where it was shown that Chautala was "hale and hearty and attending public meetings from time to time".

He was granted parole on February 6.

Chautala's lawyer, however, denied the allegations and stated that people gathered to meet him while he was on the way to his village.A

A special Central Bureau of Investigation court here on January 22, 2013 had sentenced the Chautalas and eight others to 10 years in jail after finding them guilty of illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained teachers in 2000.
