The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Tuesday approached the Delhi High Court seeking direction to South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to issue a provisional occupancy certificate (POC) to hold the fourth Test of the ongoing India-South Africa series at Ferozeshah Kotla stadium.

A division bench of Justice B.D. Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva posted the matter for Wednesday.

The match is scheduled to be held from December 3 to December 7. However, DDCA has sought the POC certification from December 1 to 10.

Former Indian cricketer Kirti Azad told the court that DDCA should not be allowed to hold the match at the stadium alleging that financial irregularities have taken place at DDCA and these were being investigated.

On Monday, SDMC had rejected DDCA's application for a no-objection certificate or provisional occupancy certificate to hold the match.

Advocate Gaurang Kanth, appearing for SDMC, also opposed the DDCA plea.
