The hills of Himachal Pradesh on Monday continued to experience warm weather with heat wave conditions prevailing largely in low hills, a Met official said here.
Una town, located along Punjab border, recorded a high of 40 degrees Celsius.
"Temperatures soared due to the ongoing dry spell. Heat wave conditions are prevailing in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Sirmaur districts and parts of Mandi district and will continue to prevail till April 19," an official of the meteorological office told IANS.
He said there are chances of rain and thundershowers across the state from April 20 to 23.
The state capital recorded a high of 26.4 degrees Celsius, six degrees above the average for this time of the year.
Dharamsala recorded 31.6 degrees Celsius, 4.5 notches above average.

Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a maximum of 35.1 degrees Celsius, while it was 24.8 degrees in Kalpa in Kinnaur district.
