Three persons were killed as heavy rains lashed various parts of Telangana on Friday, an official said.
All the deaths were reported from Medak district, which has received heavy rains since Thursday night. A 35-year-old woman and her seven-year-old daughter were killed when their house collapsed in Medak town.
In another incident of house collapse in Mubarkpur village, a 65-year-old man was killed. Three others were injured in the two incidents.
Authorities in Medak, Nalgonda and Warangal districts have declared two-day holiday for all schools and colleges in view of the heavy rains.
Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts were also receiving heavy rains.
Lakes and streams were overflowing in these districts, inundating low-lying areas. Roads were also flooded in some parts of Telangana, affecting the movement of vehicles.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked officials to be an alert in view of the forecast of more rains over next two days.
Rao, who is in Delhi, reviewed the situation on Friday and directed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to prepare a report about the loss due to the heavy rains. He said tanks breached at many places while roads and bridges were damaged.
He asked the District Collectors to assess the damage. The Chief Minister urged the Centre to provide help for relief operations.
