Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley here and sought hassle-free credit facility.
He told the Finance Minister that state cooperative banks have not been made member lending institutions under the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for micro and small enterprises and small farmers agri-business consortium.
"Owing to this reason, potential entrepreneurs are not getting collateral-free loans facility under the government of India programmes like Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana," an official statement quoting Thakur said.
Seeking his personal intervention to ensure facilitating easy and hassle-free credit facility, he said this would not only help the cooperative banks in expanding credit portfolios but also go a long way in creating livelihood as well as growth and diversification of agriculture and agro-based industries.
The Chief Minister also urged for intervention regarding persuading the World Bank to continue to fund the Integrated Development Project for source sustainability and climate resilient rainfed agriculture as a separate project.
He said the Integrated Development Project and Forest for Prosperity were merged taking the view that both projects were being implemented by the same department and have contiguous objectives and outcomes.
