Tourist resorts in Himachal Pradesh may experience more snow and rain but the state capital saw a sunny day Sunday with the minimum temperature at 5.3 degrees Celsius.
The temperatures remained below the freezing point at most places, an official of the meteorological office here told IANS, adding that the western disturbances would remain active in the region till Dec 23.
"Heavy rain and snow will occur at isolated places in the state till Monday," a Met statement said.
A Met official said chances of snow in and around Shimla and Manali are high.
Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest in the state with a low of minus 7 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was minus 3 degrees in Manali and 4.8 degrees in Dharamsala.
However, the maximum temperature in Shimla, Kalpa and Dharamsala towns was 14 degrees, 5.8 degrees and 14.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
