Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Kaul Singh on Saturday called on Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda here and sought adequate central funds to strengthen health services in the state.
He said the upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bilaspur town in Himachal Pradesh would prove to be a landmark in providing quality health services.
Singh urged Nadda, who also belongs to Himachal, to release 90 per cent central funds for Nahan, Hamirpur and Chamba medical colleges so that adequate facilities could be created.
Later, the Health Minister met Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati and demanded construction of a big airport to boost the state's tourism industry.
He said a feasibility study should be conducted to set up an international airport at Gungardhar on the outskirts of Mandi town.
