Himachal Startup is poised to turn the educated youth from job-seekers to job-providers and to give support to the 'start-ups' and 'innovation projects,' Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Thursday.

He said this while flagging off a 'start-up yatra' van from the state capital.

The Chief Minister said this scheme is a gift of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the youth of the country which envisages incentives to enable the entrepreneurs to succeed in their ventures.

This scheme would provide an opportunity to the youth to carry forward their innovation to the next level where they could be transformed to reality.

The 'start-up yatra' vehicle would visit educational institutions of Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, Hamirpur, Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, and Mandi districts.

He said the scheme has provisions of creation of incubation centres in the host institutions in order to build capacities, develop networking, establish necessary infrastructure and generate awareness.

Thakur said the basic objective of the scheme is to create self-employment and employment for others, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance.

It also aims at helping and holding entrepreneurs to select viable projects in the potential areas in manufacturing and service sectors and training them to set up start-ups and running them professionally.
