Sandro Wagner moves from Hoffenheim to league rival Bayern Munich, both Bundesliga clubs confirmed.
Sandro Wagner returns to his youth club after putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2020. The striker received the jersey number 2, reports Xinhua news agency.
"I am really happy. A long journey comes to an end for me, I come home to my club. I am very delighted that everything worked out. Bayern is the best club in Germany and one of the best in the world," Wagner said on Thursday.
The 30-year-old striker started his professional career at Bayern Munich before he joined a number of Bundesliga clubs, among them Werder Bremen, Hertha Berlin and Hoffenheim.
"With Sandro Wagnger another Germany international joins Bayern. We are confident that Sandro Wagnger will further increase the quality of our team through his class and experience," Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said.
Wagner's performances at Hoffenheim, where he scored 15 goals in 42 appearances, earned him his first call up for Germany's national team in June 2017. He made ever since seven caps and provided five goals.
