Home ministry gets Rs.62,124 crore in budget

The union home ministry was Saturday allocated Rs.62,124.52 crore in the budget for 2015-16, an increase of Rs.5,752.07 crore from that of the last fiscal.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, while presenting the budget here in the Lok Sabha, said the central government was committed to the overall development of the country.

Relief and rehabilitation of Jammu and Kashmir migrants gets Rs.580 crore against Rs.342.50 crore during last fiscal.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been allocated Rs.14,089.38 crore. It was given Rs. 12,866.12 crore in 2014-15.

The Border Security Force (BSF), which guards the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders, has been given Rs.12,517.82 crore against Rs.11,717.46 crore in the last fiscal.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), deployed at the India-China border, has been allocated Rs.3,736.47 crore. In the last fiscal, the force was given Rs.3,404.93 crore.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which protects airports, industrial infrastructure, atomic stations, Delhi Metro besides others, has been given Rs.5,196.65 crore. In 2014-15, the force was given Rs.4,937.91 crore.

Intelligence Bureau was given Rs.1,270.40 crore as against Rs.1,162.79 crore last year.
