A high-level meeting is being held in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) chiefly to discuss a possible threat from Islamic State (IS), in terms of radicalising the Indian youth, official sources said here on Saturday evening.

Senior officials, including those from the police of 12 states, were participating in the closed door meet in the national capital.

The meeting, being chaired by union Home Secretary L.C. Goyal, was being attended by the home secretaries and police chiefs of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Assam, Punjab, West Bengal and Delhi, the sources said.

The recent incidents of IS flag waving in Jammu and Kashmir and other related activities have alarmed the government, sources added.

Various social media sites are also being watched by the government officials to keep track of the issue. Vigil is also being maintained over people who may get influenced by the extremists' ideology.
