Chinese smartphone-maker Huawei, under its Honor brand, is rumoured to launch "Honor 8 Lite" for the Indian consumers on May 10 which may also be available at retail stores.
Industry sources told IANS that the new phone will come in premium form factor in 64GB and 4GB storage variant. The device is expected to come in blue and black colours.
The move is significant at a time when the company is expected to clock 0.8 per cent market share in the first quarter of 2017 (according to the data provided by the market research firm Counterpoint Research) and wants to strengthen its market share.
Earlier this month, Huawei launched Honor Bee2 smartphone at Rs 7,499, that packs an 11.43cm FWVGA display and runs on a 2,100mAh battery. It also sports a 5MP camera with 1.4um pixel, dual-LED flash and 2MP front camera.
The device is powered by quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on top.
