At least six people died and four others fell ill after consuming spurious liquor on Sunday in West Bengal's East Midnapore district, police said.
"So far six people have died and four others have been hospitalised. Until the post-mortem reports arrive, we can't say conclusively but it appears the deaths were due to spurious liquor," said a police officer.
According to police, a group of people consumed country liquor at a local fest on Saturday and were rushed to hospital late in the night after they started vomiting.
